Never just pass the time away...

Over the past two years, I've been pushing myself to live with a purpose, to grow, to learn, to challenge. So, here are some things I've been doing and really enjoying recently.

Read The Hunger Games
I missed the bandwagon of Harry Potter and Twilight - I just saw the movies instead. I caught this one just in time! The first book is enthralling and totally draws you in. My husband is now in book 3. I can't wait to talk about what happens in the end with him!  Will you see the movie??

Reading Atlas Shrugged
Who is John Gault? This question appears on bumper stickers, and the classic is referenced all the time. I took the plunge and have audio-booked this lengthy novel. I'm in the last few chapters, and I have to say, I'm hooked.

Enjoying a cup of tea
I've started drinking more hot tea...with a dollop of honey. The problem is it seems to disappear as soon as it hits my lips. I'm enjoying Earle Gray....any tea brand/kind suggestions?

Swooning Over Baking
I've read ridiculous amounts of this blog http://sweetopia.net/ on baking and decorating cookies (Thanks Pinterest for my baking adiction). However, I've refrained from taking action on this desire to bake because it completely would contradict my next activity......

Working Out
I've cut my calories, and have been dedicated to a minimum of 3 hard core workouts per week for the last 6 weeks. I've cut out diet coke and my beloved lattes, eating lots of veggies and organic-lean meat, restricted sweets and carbs, and feel fabulous! My motivation....self-esteem and changing the way clothes fit.

What have you been up to lately?

Congratulations on working out! I'm always trying to stay motivated in that area.
I just finished the first Hunger Games novel, I was hooked. I can't wait to see the film.
I've had Atlas Shrugged on my to-read list for awhile I might download the audio book for car rides or while I'm doing housework. Hope you're having a great week!

Sara, I love the hunger games as well and am in the middle of the 2nd book. I can't believe what is happening! I'm so excited as well to see the movie. My book club is reading them right now...so much fun! Oh, and I love tea as well, especially Earl Grey. Harney & Sons has the best I think but it's a little pricey. Have you ever had a London Fog Latte? It's an Early Grey Tea Latte with a pump or two of vanilla. Such a yummy treat...oh, and so good with vanilla almond milk (almond milk is so very good for you and much higher in calcium than regular milk. I've been drinking it since I've been pregnant to make sure I get enough calcium. I don't think I'll switch back. Anyway, fun to see we have some things in common. Take care.

Way to be working out! That's great.
I've been dying to read the Hunger Games for a long time now, but refuse to spend the money on them..or go to the library since I owe money there (haha) so I won't watch the movie until after I read!

English black tea is really really good with honey and a splash of milk or 1/2 and 1/2. We got into it after visiting friends in the UK and have done it at night ever since. Its so enjoyable as a night drink.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)
